Bangkok-Auckland

Unlike what you may think, Yelena spent most of the flight sleeping while Caitlyne didn't sleep much. But Thai Airways' beds are definitely too small for Yelena !

The flight was fine and the hostesses were much nicer than the Paris-Bangkok ones. We arrived one hour earlier than scheduled (which felt good) and quickly got our luggages back.

Pai's family was there to pick us up and half an hour later we were finally "at home".

Bangkok, 13 hour stopover

Well i've finally decided to post he he!! After 12 and a half hours on the air, we're now stranded at Bangkok airport for another 13 hours...feels like we'll never get there. So far, it's not going too bad. We all managed to sleep at the Airport Lounge after making ourselves a bed with two large sofas....they were quite comfortable except that the air con was a little too cold.

After a 5-hr sleep, i went out looking for food. I found out that people at the shops were a little reluctant to help (i was actually looking for a teller machine & baby food). Either my english was terrible or my tired ugly face must have scared them off. I finally understood that i had to exit to find a machine, so changed my last 10 euro note to get some sandwiches!!! Oh, and a coconut as well...who'd have thought i'd be drinking coconut at bangkok airport he he. It was excellentoh!!!

Well, a few hours left now before we board again. Last flight then we arrive in Auckland...i hope Kristy's bringing a big car coz there's a lot of luggages :-) Ciao for now, and will keep you posted every step of the way.

ciao amigos!!!!

ps: Happy birthday Henrik !!!!

Paris-Bangkok

The flight from Paris to Bangkok went ok, never mind the sore bums and backaches. Yelena didn't sleep much in her bed because it was a bit too small but she was nice. Caitlyne was very good too. As for us, we didn't get much sleep juggling time between the girls.

However meals weren't too bad, were they girls ?

First flight

Big excitment this morning. We take off today for Auckland. A long 36 hour journey will take us there including a 13 hour stop over in Bangkok !

We leave Paris at 1:30pm, arrive in Bangkok at 6:30am on the 30th of June (1:30am French time). After our long 13 hour wait, we leave Bangkok at 7:50pm (2:50pm French time) and eventually arrive in Auckland on Sunday the 1st of July at 12:20pm (2:20am French time).

We will have to be patient but it's the way to our holidays !

Let's go !

27th of June, we left Marseille at 2:31pm by TGV (Bullet Train) to Paris. It's not exotic yet but we have to go to the French capital city to catch our plane.

We're now spending the night at Regi's godmother's place before leaving for the airport tomorrow morning for our long awaiting départ....youpiiii!!!

First blog ... first post

It was after reading our friend Matt's blog that gave us the idea to create one for our trip to the other side of the world.

Our journey will start with a long flight to Auckland where we will spend one week. Then continue on to Samoa for 4 weeks, spending time with Pai's friends and family.

So let the adventure begin !
